Denial: Flowing swiftly through Pensacola

"What? Me worry?"
Creation 'evangelist' Kent Hovind continues to sit in Escambia County jail while his lawyers file multiple appeals on the case (or so he says). What's most interesting about his plight is that his blogs are always the same. They are filled with "Everyone else should be in here, so glad I'm not like them". In fact, Kent may not have committed the same sorts of crimes as the people he shares G20 with, but that does not make him any less deserving of his current living quarters. I suppose a psychiatrist might have a field day examining Hovind. Reading his blogs makes me think of someone who simply refuses to accept that he has been convicted and also thinks he is better than everyone else in that place because he has found God. Read some of this stuff:

My last four months in jail have been similar in many ways. Most of the men God sent me to reach in here have a very different way of viewing the world and thinking about many things. In one Bible study, I mentioned that God’s plan is for both the man and the woman to be virgins on their wedding day and to stay faithful for life. I said that is what my wife and I have done for over thirty three years. No one in this jail pod had ever heard of such a thing! One man said, “That would be so cool! You could really trust your wife and have a great relationship, couldn’t you!”

This is the same 'loving husband' who told his crying wife over the phone 'Maybe you better change" when she asked if 'their marriage was going to be the same'. Listen to the tapes and you'll find a woman agonizing over their relationship. So, even in prison, Kent has denied any problems whatsover. I suppose that's one of the ways to make it through such an ordeal.

Just as Don had to spend hours listening to the Sawis to understand their culture before he found the key to reaching them for Christ; I have spent untold hours listening to men who were raised completely opposite of me, describe their world view. It is important to “sit where they sit” to really reach them (Ezekiel 3:15). Understanding the reasons behind why they take drugs, wear pants halfway down with their boxers showing, have gold front teeth, have 16″ long dread locks that they have not combed in eight years, or flock to the TV for the local news to see if their “home-boy” was arrested, is all part of my current missionary assignment.

"Don" was a missionary who supposedly converted a bunch of lying treacherous cannibals to Christ. Aside from the obvious criticism of his fellow prisoners, Kent pretends he's not one of them, he's on a mission assignment. Not really Kent, your serving a 10-year prison term.

I have seen men shake and sweat as they come off some of the worst drugs known to man. I learned that black men can shave with a plastic spoon!

Sometimes when I hear/read Hovind, I wonder if there is a more bigoted person in the world. What's so important about shaving with a plastic spoon?

I see the results of the failure of our society, school system, and churches. Why weren’t these men reached when they were kids?

Coming from someone who expresses amazement at how someone shaves, I'd suggest that Kent did not bother to try to 'reach' any of these folks when they were kids. Furthermore, I think one of the worse drugs known to man is the self-induced Savior psychosis apparent in so many of the 'creationist ministries' today. Creationists want to ruin America by driving it towards a Taliban-esque state where these same men you are 'saving' would likely be thrown in prison anyway for failure to conform to your world-view. So, we have a choice here. These men have a chance to get over their addictions or they can be addicted to creationist stupidity for the rest of their lives.

I’ve been able to witness to Muslims, Buddhists, Nazis, drug dealers, Jehovah Witnesses, whoremongers, adulterers, child molesters, and homosexuals, as well as men who have no clue who their father is and whose mother was a prostitute. Most have never been to church or read the Bible in their entire life.

Been able to witness to any tax-evaders (look in the mirror)? As anyone who follows you would know, going to church (or even creating one as a tax-shelter) and reading the bible does not stop anyone from turning to drugs or trying to bilk the system.

The CSE Ministry Team is still doing well, in spite of the devastating blow.
My son Eric has done an awesome job filling in for me during my “extended leave!” We still get dozens of reports every week of souls being saved and lives being changed. That is our main purpose on earth. We praise God for using us even during this great time of trial and testing.
Hmm, from the looks of the CSE Home page, this also seems to be denying the obvious.

Cheers

Is there any independent confirmation that there is a Sawi tribe that was cannibalistic or did the missionary make it up? I can't find any information to suggest this has happened.

Yes, apparently there is a book about this tribe and Don's account of saving them. I linked to it in the blog. The question is, do you think Kent would ever do something like Don?

Joe says "Sometimes when I hear/read Hovind, I wonder if there is a more bigoted person in the world. What's so important about shaving with a plastic spoon?"

1. How does Joe get "bigoted" out of Hovind's comment? I don't.

2. How does Joe surmise that Hovind thinks that "shaving with a plastic spoon" is "so important?" I don't get that. Hovind simply commented on his observation.

Joe, you're really stretching to put Hovind down. Why don't you just stick to criticizing Hovind's creation theory? That is, after all, what you and your blogsite are about isn't it?

But lets move on to a much more important discussion.

Let's talk about Joe's belief that Hovind is a "tax-evader" who is out to "bilk the system."

It matters not what Hovind's motivation(s) for not paying taxes were, whether he thinks his work for God exempts him or whether his conscience forbids him from contributing to our government's murderous global war-mongering or whether he just enjoys "bilking the system", whatever that is.

The fact of the matter is Hovind is in the clink not for breaking any law, but because the IRS is a corrupt terrorist organization and Hovind's judge was a crooked fraud facilitator.

Now Joe, before you dismiss my assertion that Hovind is innocent of breaking any law concerning tax liability, I would ask you to do a little research into the IRS's application of the Internal Revenue Code.

By the way, the Code is 100% constitutional. The problem lies with the IRS's fraudulent misapplication of the law.

If you take me up on my suggestion that you do a little research, you will find that even YOU are not liable to neither file a tax return nor pay an income tax.
The income tax laws are not written to include you, me, nor Hovind (even though they are being fraudulently declared by the IRS and the lower courts to include you, me, and Hovind). If they were written in that manner it would constitute a "direct tax" which according to the Constitution would have to be "apportioned among the several States", which of course they are not. See Article I., Section 2., Clause 3 of the Constitution at http://www.house.gov/house/Constitution/Constitution.html

Here are a few sites to get you started in your research. Just one caution though. Once you learn the truth you will be pissed about all the money that has been extorted from you by the IRS!

Bill,

Thanks for your comments. I'll address them as follows:

(1) It may be difficult to recognize bigotry from the inside.
(2) There is no such thing as 'creation theory' so it's rather silly to criticize a non-existent entity.
(3) My blog site is about Science, antiscience and geology. The Hovind discussions are about the actions of one particular pseudoscientist, but I'm not bias just towards Kent.
(4) You may not like the laws and you may interpret them differently, but Hovind was convicted for breaking the laws. If you don't like the system, there are better ways to change it than spending 10 years in jail claiming ignorance.

I don't have time or interest in reading propaganda websites or listening to tax advice from people who agree with a convicted felon about the law.

Cheers

Joe says in his #2 comment: "There is no such thing as 'creation theory' so it's rather silly to criticize a non-existent entity." I'm not sure I follow. Perhaps I misused the term 'creation theory.' I probably should have said "creationism." There are certainly a lot people criticizing creationism as being an un-scientific theory. Just Google "Evolution vs. Creationism."

Joe, you say "I don't have time or interest in reading propaganda websites or listening to tax advice from people who agree with a convicted felon about the law."

Well what is your definition of "propaganda?" Sure those websites "propagandize" a particular viewpoint. So does the IRS's website. So does yours. No big deal there. I just hope your definition of propaganda does not imply that propaganda is necessarily false information. Propaganda can be true or false.

And what if the "propaganda" those websites proclaim is true? Are you saying you don't "have time or interest" in the truth but instead would rather accept the demons ratable fraud you and so many have been accustomed to? If that's the case I question your scientific intent.

As far as you not wanting to "listen to tax advice", good. Because none was given, not by myself or any of the websites I provided.

"Agree with a convicted felon"? What are you talking about? I have no idea what Hovind thinks about "the law", so how could I agree with him? Come on Joe!

And lastly, just because someone is a "convicted felon" does not mean he is necessarily guilty. Being a scientist you are surly aware of the fact that many convicted felons have been exonerated and released from prison due to DNA and other recent criminal science advancements. So please don't push the "if he's a convicted felon it proves guilt" tripe on your readers. As crooked as our courts have become you would be dancing on very thin ice.

Now I would guess you're going to chastise me for commenting on subjects other than "science, antiscience and geology." Fine, I've said my peace and I'll gladly stop now.

But just let me close by encouraging everyone to at least watch the documentary America: Freedom to Fascism. It is quite entertaining and is about much more than taxes.

Thanks,
Bill Stegmeier

I have screwed around with Kent Hovind for years. He is a first class idiot. Now that he is locked up I have quit.Ken Ham at AIG is actually more dangerous in the long run,but not near as much fun to pick on.Hovind is a sick man.Picking on emotional cripples just ain't that much fun.I only have a DSM2 to use,but by those standards Ken Hovind suffers not only from a persecutory paranoid state, but also paranoid grandiosity.Kent Hovind fits the parameters of this condition almost to a tee.He could receive help in the federal prison system, but I doubt he would accept it.Here are just a few of the behaviors that make up this ilness.

The identifying marks of delusional conviction are(1)readiness to accept the flimsiest evidence in support of the belief, and (2)inability to entertain seriously any evidence that contradicts it.

Some spend a great deal of energy and money in pressing an endless succession of lawsuits (litigous paranoia),which are really attempts to combat an unconscious sense of guilt by forcing courts to demonstrate the litigant's innocence,at the same time punishing the persons he accuses in place of himself.

Paranoid Grandiosity
The complexity of delusional conviction varies from rather simple beliefs in one's alleged talent,to a highly complex, systematized belief that one is a great prophet, poet, inventor or scientist. Very rarely does a person with paranoid grandiosity actually contribute anything useful to the social enviroment.More often he joins some fanatical movement in current vogue,in this way succeeding sometimes in sublimating his excessive zeal and saving himself from further illness.

The following was taken from my high school years Encyclopedia Britannica.1964 edition.

My definition of propaganda is a list of unsolicited webpages meant to show support for a pathological liar convicted on the US tax code. My blog is not the place to change laws you disagree with and I'm certainly not in a position to lobby anyone for the type of change you seem hell bent on achieving. As for fascism, you might want to consider the fascist movement supported by Hovind called Christo-fascism

Hi there Joe

Just wanted to let you know, Dr Kent Hovind may be guilty, but he is not wrong about evolution. God did create the earth and everything in it and however inconvenient it is for people who like to use their head instead of believing with their heart that there is a God, God is very real and HE LOVES YOU!!! For whatever reason DR Kent Hovind those to evade tax, he still made a difference to peoples lives for the better, when was the last time you did that.

Another thing, being a Christian is also all about being positive and believing God has a purpose with everything that happens to us, however bad and deserving we may be of it because of our actions. So looking at what he wrote in his blog, it is obvious that he is doing just that and maybe you cant take the idea of him not giving up. Just look at Paul's reaction in the bible when it happened to him.

Anyway, I do hope that you meet God oneday and chose to give your life to Him. Maybe then you might understand and look at life and Dr Kent Hovind in a different light.

Best regards

Andre
