Oregon Biology teacher fired over creationism

FoxNews is reporting that an Oregon biology teacher was fired over his attack on evolution. According to the news report, the teacher made a direct link between evolution, Nazi Germany and Planned Parenthood (the three sisters of the creation apocalypse). He was terminated for deviating from the planned curriculum (and was apparently a part-time instructor). Kris Helphenstine, the teacher said:

Critical thinking is vital to scientific inquiry," said Helphinstine, who has a master's degree in science from Oregon State. "My whole purpose was to give accurate information and to get them thinking

Thinking about what Kris? How well you've been duped by young earth creationists and ID'ers into buying one of the lamest (yet emotional) attacks on evolution? Helphenstine claims he went out of his way not to teach creationism, but the evidence stated above shows he was following the creationism curriculum right down the line. Was firing him a good idea? Probably so, it's quite clear he did not have a grasp of the subject material he was responsible for teaching.
